They wanted to capture their memories without the strict timeline and rush of the wedding day, and most importantly, they wanted to escape the heavy crowds that usually pack the town center of Amalfi. After discussing a few options along the coastline, we decided on Borgo Sant'Andrea. This luxury hotel is a true architectural masterpiece carved directly into the cliffside, located just a few minutes down the coastal road from Amalfi, sitting right between the open sky and the Tyrrhenian sea.

The entire session felt exactly like a couple session should feel: a relaxed, quiet walk. There was no need for rigid posing or forced smiles. What is the best time of day for a photoshoot at Borgo Sant'Andrea?

Timing is everything when you want to get the most out of the coastal light. The ideal time for a session here is late afternoon, roughly two hours before the sun goes down. During these hours, the sun drops behind the high ridges near Conca dei Marini, creating a beautiful, indirect light that flatters skin tones without creating harsh, dark shadows or forcing you to squint against the glare.

  3. An evening stroll in Amalfi: Take the short five-minute drive into Amalfi later in the evening. Once the day-trippers and tour buses leave, the main square right in front of the historic Duomo di Sant'Andrea becomes wonderfully quiet and intimate.
